Overview

People have visited Bath for over 3000 years. In the early days of tourism people came to Bath to experience the healing properties of the mineral-rich hot springs, you can see the hot springs in the Roman Baths.

The City of Bath is exceptional in having two UNESCO inscriptions. In 1987 it was inscribed for its Hot Springs, Roman archaeology, Georgian buildings and natural landscape setting. In 2021 a second inscription was received as one of the Great Spa Towns of Europe.
