Why Practise Mindful Photography
Mindful photography is all about trusting your self, your senses, and your vision when you take a photograph. That trust will in turn effect other areas of your life, improving your wellbeing.
Apart from being fun and relaxing, mindfulness is a creative action that will open your heart and soul to the world around you and perhaps shift your perspective and change your state of mind. It’s also a way to be kind to yourself while developing self-trust and self-knowledge.
Taking photos involve us in many emotions it also provides ideas, values and opinions. Photos require observation and interpretation. We judge what we produce. However this can be very restrictive. We’ll look at our images from a different perspective, a non-judgemental position. What are you feeling, what would you like to express? Allow yourself to create a new, clear narrative with your images.
We ask that you simply take this journey with an open but curious mind. Preconception or judgement is not required. Acceptance of the journey is more important, wherever it takes you. No experience of photography is necessary, come as you are, bring any camera, smartphone or tablet.
